Hopkinsville Beautification Commission Invites Everyone to Nominate a Home for the Yard of the Month Award
The public is invited to nominate candidates for Hopkinsville
Beautification Commission’s Yard of the Month Award. A different
home will be selected each month from April through October for this
award in each of the city’s 12 wards. Guidelines for nominating a
home are: the beauty of the yard must be visible from the street,
the yard must be neatly kept, individual homes can win only once per
year and nominated homes must be within the city limits. After a
home is nominated, members of the commission will view the home and
make their decisions based on the appearance of the yard.
The purpose of this contest is to recognize the efforts of Hopkinsville
residents which encourage and demonstrate community pride

complete a nomination form online or phone in your nomination to
the Mayor’s office at 890-0200.
The Hopkinsville Beautification Commission was created by city
ordinance on January 15, 2008. The Commission plans, oversees and
administers city landscape, cleanup and beautification efforts and
programs including grant applications; management, recruiting and
coordinating of volunteers; and education of the public regarding
beautification issues. The Commission administers the
community-wide landscape and beautification plan in cooperation with
government and non-government agencies and organizations in Christian
County, Kentucky. Our mission is to promote the public interest and to
enhance local quality of life by creating a more appealing, pleasant
and inviting place in which to live, work, and play.
