Tree-Membrance

What is the Tree-Membrance Program?Tree Membrance

Give a gift that will last for generations! Planting a tree in a city park is a wonderful way to honor a loved one and provides a lasting gift to the whole community.

Your $100 tax-deductible gift will be used to purchase and plant a suitable tree in a Hopkinsville city park. Currently, areas of focus for plantings are the children’s  playground at North Drive Park and the replacement of trees at Virginia Park.

When you donate a tree, you and the recipient or their family will receive a letter recognizing your donation. When the tree is planted (typically early spring or fall) the   recipient will receive a letter noting the tree’s location and a certificate suitable for framing.

Each tree will be marked with a temporary tag noting the donor, the recipient, and the type of tree.  The recipient and donor’s name will be placed on a permanent plaque which hangs in the Jeffers’ Bend Environmental and Botanial Center.

How Do I Donate a Tree?

Simply fill out the attached form, include a check for $100 made out to the City of Hopkinsville and mail to the address on the form. A tree of approximately  two-inch caliper and appropriate for our planting zone will be selected by the Beautification Commission. The tree will be planted and maintained by the city staff. Each tree comes with a two-year replacement guarantee.

Who Can Be Honored With Tree-Membrance?
