21st Annual Black History Trivia Bowl
On February 18, 2012, the Hopkinsville Human Relations Commission and Hopkinsville Community College’s Minority Student Union hosted the 21st annual Black History Trivia Bowl. The tournament began at 8:30am in the Auditorium Building at Hopkinsville Community College. Over the years, this program has encouraged hundreds of middle and high school students from the surrounding area to reflect on our rich heritage by preparing for this day of friendly competition.
Sixteen teams participated in this year’s event. Teams included:
- All Nations House of Prayer (2 teams)
- Clarksville High School
- Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church
- Ft. Campbell High School
- Greater Missionary Baptist Church
- Hopkinsville High School
- Mahaffey Middle School(2 teams)
- Northeast High School
- Northeast Middle School (2 teams)
- Paducah Middle School (2 team)
- Rossview Middle (2 teams)
The Trivia Bowl takes the form of a double elimination, quick recall tournament aimed at encouraging young people:
- to gain a fuller understanding of the contributions of African-American communities to our nation’s growth and
- to broaden their vision of the future.

Clarksville Northeast High School – 3rd Place
