“We Are Our Community” Award

Award Description
The inaugural “We Are Our Community” Award is given in collaboration by the Minority Economic Development Initiative of Western Kentucky, Inc. (MEDI), the Hopkinsville Human Relations Commission and the Community Engagement Committee of the Christian County CARES 2015 Community Vision Plan.  With this award, we recognize a business or organization located in Hopkinsville – Christian County with 25 or more employees or members whose daily practice demonstrates the desire to include and advance the economic and social well-being of all sectors of the community. This Award will be presented at the Minority Enterprise Development of Kentucky’s MEDI Awards Banquet on Friday, October 22 at 6:30 PM at the James E. Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Eligibility
Nominees must be for-profit businesses or not-for-profit organizations located in Hopkinsville – Christian County and having 25 or more employees or members.

Award Criteria
Applicant will demonstrate and be judged based on four main criteria:
1)     The policies and initiatives which promote inclusion.
2)    How well the composition of the business or organization reflects the community’s demographics.
3)     Partnerships and collaborations which ensure inclusion and diversity within our community.
 4)     Sponsorships or community volunteer activities which impact the community.

How To Apply
1)    Complete this application.
2)    Illustrate or describe your organization’s policies and initiatives which promote inclusion and diversity.
3)    Provide documentation which shows how the composition of your organization reflects the community’s demographics.
4)    List partnerships and collaborations which ensure inclusion and diversity within all sectors of the community.
5)    Describe or illustrate sponsorships or community volunteer activities which impact the community.

Deliver submissions by 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 14, 2010 to MEDI, 1101A South Main, Hopkinsville, KY or to NFerguson@medisuccess.org.
