Lend a Hand at the Trivia Bowl
On February 19, 2011, the Hopkinsville Human Relations Commission will host its 20th annual Black History Trivia Bowl in the Hopkinsville Community College Auditorium Building beginning at 7:30am. Over the years, this program has encouraged hundreds of middle and high school students from the surrounding area to reflect on our rich heritage by preparing for this day of friendly competition.
The Trivia Bowl takes the form of a double elimination, quick recall tournament aimed at encouraging young people to:
Ø gain a fuller understanding of the contributions of minority communities to our nation’s growth and
Ø broaden their vision of the future.
To continue to make this tradition a reality, we ask for your volunteer service. There are a variety of ways to get involved such as assisting with meals or serving as a judge, moderator, photographer, scorer, spotter, or timer.
