Former Hopkinsville Firefighter to be Inducted in KY Firefighters Hall of Fame
A former Hopkinsville firefighter will be inducted in the Kentucky
Firefighters Association Hall of Fame in Gilbertsville next week.
The State Firefighters Association will hold a conference July 28th through July 31st. Hopkinsville Fire Chief Fagan Pace says there will be a lot of good networking and classes going on during the conference. However, Chief Pace says the most interesting thing to him is Major James Moore, the pioneer of firefighting education and safety, will be inducted in the Hall of Fame. Chief Pace says safety, education and prevention are the key to fighting fires effectively.
Chief Pace says Major Moore was also a Chief for Western State Hospital’s Fire Department with over 9-hundred employees.
Chief Pace says this is a great honor for the Fire Department and the City of Hopkinsville.
Major James Moore is the grandfather of Hopkinsville City Councilman Todd Moore.
The Hall of Fame banquet will be held Tuesday night at 7 o’clock at the Kentucky Dam Village State Park Convention Center in Gilbertsville.
