The Hopkinsville Fire Department would like to remind all citizens of Hopkinsville and Christian County that as of Sept. 16 there is a burn ban in effect until further notice. We understand at this time of year with the weather cooling off and the leaves beginning to fall people are inclined to burn. Unfortunately the extremely dry weather we have been experiencing has made conditions extremely dangerous. Please be mindful of these conditions and follow all laws when disposing of leaves and trash.

This ban was issued by County Judge Executive Steve Tribble and is enforced by the Ky Division of Forestry. Additional information can be found at www.forestry.ky.gov.
