Hopkinsville Fire Department's "Fill the Boot" Campaign
Chief Pace and the Hopkinsville Fire Department would like to thank the citizens of our community for their continued support in our annual “Fill the Boot” campaign.
Through the annual “Fill the Boot” event, fire fighters across the United States and Canada have been a major contributor to the Muscular Dystrophy Association since 1952, raising more than $350 million.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is an organization dedicated to finding a cure for muscular dystrophy, ALS, as well as other related diseases. The money that is collected during this three day event goes to finding a cure for 40 neuromuscular diseases, as well as medical treatment, research and adaptive equipment and summer camps.
$5357.26 was raised over the holiday weekend by the Hopkinsville Fire Department. This money will be used in Christian County for 13 families that are affected by this disease.
We would like to thank Wal-Mart and Krogers for their yearly help in
this project. Chief Pace would also like to thank FF/Medic Lucas
Stagner for personally raising over $1000.
