The Hopkinsville Police Department has added two Segway Personal Transporters to its fleet of vehicles.

Officers say the Segways are helping to improve community policing.

Officer Patricia Alexander says much of her time on patrol is now spent talking to people about the Segway and how it works.

That's helping her to get to know business owners and people in the community.

Alexander says the Segway makes people feel comfortable talking to the Police.

The Department has two Segways.

The vehicles have only been on the street for a month but already officers have made two arrests.
