Warrant Arrest Leads to Drugs and Weapon Seizure

On Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. officers of the Hopkinsville Police Department and members of the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force attempted to locate a wanted fugitive in room 5 of the Colonial Motel.  Officers located Kathy Jo Burnside (33) of South Fulton, Tn, who was wanted by  Kentucky State Police on drug charges.  Burnside was accompanied, in the room, by Robert D. Blane (28) of Hopkinsville.  Officers located marijuana between the beds in the motel room and both Burnside and Blane were charged with possession of marijuana.  As events developed, members of the Hopkinsville Police Department's Special Investigation Unit, assisted by Deputy Robert Schneider and K-9 D'Jango of the Christian County Sheriff's Department, obtained a search warrant for the entire room and vehicles of the occupants.  The search resulted in the seizure of 55.5 grams of marijuana, 7 grams of powder cocaine, 3.5 grams of crack cocaine, 14 Lortab prescription pills, a 9mm handgun, 1 Oldsmobile Bravada, and $4,881 cash.  Both Burnside and Blane were lodged in the Christian County Jail.  The Special Investigations Unit would like to thank the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and the Christian County Sheriff's Department for their assistance in this investigation.
