The Hopkinsville Police Department would like to remind the citizens of Hopkinsville, who will be out shopping this holiday season, about these personal safety tips:  When parking your car, roll up all windows, lock the vehicle and conceal valuables, preferably in the trunk.  If possible, park and walk in well lighted areas.  There is safety in numbers so shop with a friend or family members.  While out shopping, present an alert appearance and be aware of your surroundings.  When returning to your car, carry your keys in your hand and be ready to unlock your door.  As you approach your vehicle scan the area and take a quick look inside before entering.  The Hopkinsville Police Department will be monitoring businesses such as banks, convenience stores, and shopping centers in an attempt to deter any criminal activity during the holiday season.
