Hopkinsville's National Dance Day Event

We held National Dance Day – Hopkinsville on Saturday morning, July 31st, 2010, 10am till 1pm, in Little River Park.  Mayor Kemp read his proclamation.  Art in Motion Studio and owner Lisa Grice partnered with us to present this event.  Lou Willis, with Lou’s Academy, also participated in a big way.  We placed a temporary flooring material over the fountain surface, which worked well for the dancers.  AIM and Lou’s Academy both set up tents and information tables.  We had approximately 12 different performances during the morning, plus several opportunities for spectators to participate.  The weather Saturday started with a rain shower, which passed quickly, but the temperatures were soon high and by noon it was pretty uncomfortable.  We estimate between 75 to 100 people, including dancers, participated in our NDD – Hopkinsville.  WKAG TV3 and the Kentucky New Era covered the event.  Our event was listed on FOX television National Dance Day WebPages.
