Public Works Employees Participate in APWA Kentucky Southern Branch Roadeo
Four employees of the Hopkinsville Public Works Department excelled in the recent “Roadeo” held at a meeting of the American Public Works Association Southern Branch of the Kentucky Chapter in Owensboro. The Roadeo is a skill competition in snow plowing, back-hoe and skid steer handling. This competition is based on certain skills of manipulating equipment through a fixed course while being timed and scored for accuracy and ability to operate the equipment in a smooth and efficient manner.
Adam Fuller placed first in the back-hoe competition, Tim Powell finished first and Adam Fuller finished second in the skid steer competition while Jeff Lancaster and Mike Brewer finished third and fourth. Hopkinsville Street Division Assistant Superintendent Tommy Austin coached the employees and accompanied them to the competition.
