Come Celebrate the Arts in Hopkinsville at the Derby Arts Festival
The Hopkinsville Art Guild and the City of Hopkinsville are hosting
the fourth annual Derby Arts Festival on May 7, 2011. The event
is free and open to the public. It will be held from 10:00 to
2:00 inside Bradford Square Mall, 4000 Ft. Campbell Blvd.,
Hopkinsville, KY.
We all know that a thriving arts community is essential to a community
where people enjoy living and rearing their family. This event
will feature live music and dancing provided by area children and
adults. Some of the performers will be Belmont Elementary School Choir,
the combined bands from Hopkinsville Middle School, North Drive Middle
School and Christian County Middle School under the direction of Bill
Fisher, Fourth Dimension Dance group, and Danny and Dottie Shepherd on
their Dulcimers.
The “Creation Station” will give children a chance to experience
several free art activities. They can also develop skills in
decorating a Derby Hat, drawing a horse, making a book, and creating
chalk art projects. Also children can try to Pin-the-Tail on
Secretariat and get their face painted.
Please join us for a wonderful day in Hopkinsville on Derby Day, May
7th. at Bradford Square Mall.
