Third Study Circle Cycle Kicks Off
In the coming months our community will be facing a critical
issue. The issue at hand is finding concrete and meaningful ways
to prepare all our citizens to be involved in the discussion of Public
Safety. Topics of discussion include reducing crime,
collaborating more with law enforcement, and addressing racial
profiling. All are asked to get involved by participating in
constructive conversations, and brainstorm solutions to these
issues. We are looking for people to facilitate these
dialogue-to-action discussions, sometimes called “study circles”, and
we hope that you will be interested in joining this important community
effort.
The Christian County Community Vision Plan in partnership with The
Hopkinsville Police Department, Christian County Sheriff’s Department,
Christian County Public Schools, The City of Hopkinsville, Hopkinsville
Housing Authority, and The Human Relations Commission along with
Everyday Democracy (formerly the Study Circles Resource Center) invite
you to facilitator training on August 8, 2009.
Study Circles kickoff is on August 13, 2009 at BB&T Bank downtown
branch at 5:30pm. The dialogues will meet once a week for five
weeks. They will conclude with an Action Forum scheduled for
October 8, 2009.
If you are passionate about this issue in our community and feel
compelled to share your ideas and suggestions in the discussions,
please consider participating in a study circle by contacting:
